"The people of South Carolina deserve disaster funding as much as every state in our Union does. It is absolutely shameful that Lindsey Graham and other Republicans decided to use the Hurricane Sandy relief funds as a weapon in a petty budget dispute, and even more so that he doesn’t even have the courage to face up to his own decisions. Time and time again, they oppose relief for other states but, like Ted Cruz, run begging to Washington as soon as something happens in their states. It’s a show of astounding hypocrisy that really just goes to emphasize that nobody on the right has the compassion, empathy, or honesty to be President of the United States."
