Fox & Friends’ Reaction to NYT Report is Completely Ridiculous (Video)

"It’s no secret that Fox & Friends, as well as most of Fox News, has become nothing more than Donald Trump’s own version of state-run media. The morning show, in particular, is a main source for Trump’s almost daily Twitter meltdowns as he spends hours every day obsessing over what’s said about him on cable news. Following a report from The New York Times that Trump wanted to order the firing of Robert Mueller last June, despite calling reports at the time that he was considering it “fake news,” Fox & Friends reaction to all of this was essentially, “Who cares?” “Apparently the president of the United States last June wanted to fire Robert Mueller because the president felt that he had a bunch of conflicts of interest, could not adequately be the special counsel,” co-host Steve Doocy said. Fellow co-host Pete Hegseth, who was filling in for regular Brian Kilmeade, played a clip of Trump calling the story “fake news,” then tried to downplay the seriousness of the story by saying “all of this reporting is based on four people who are told of the matter — and it also screams of a leak from the special counsel.” The problem for both Doocy and Hegseth is that their own network has confirmed this story. So while both seemed to attack the credibility of The New York Times, they seemed to conveniently gloss over the fact that Fox News is standing behind the story as well. Third co-host Ainsley Earhardt ended the segment by literally asking their viewers if they “even care” that this “president” tried to fire a second person in a matter of weeks linked to investigations into whether or not he, or his campaign, committed crimes. “Alright, well, the president says that’s fake news, it happened last June, it’s something we have to tell you have about because it’s a headline on The New York Times,” Earhardt said. “What do you think about that, do you even care?” Amazing, isn’t it?"
